What is Alastor & Lilith About?
Synopsis
Alastor Campbell has sold his soul to the devil! He must now comply with the devil’s every whim, what is the first thing the devil asks of Alastor? Why, to babysit his six year old daughter, Lilith, of course! Until the day of her birthday when she turns seven. Five whole months. Being complete opposites, there’s no way they could get along.
Where Alastor lives, in a poor area known as Mopey Meadows, working as a merry-go-round operator at the circus, he’s barely making ends meet! How will they make it now that there is two of them?
Join Alastor and Lilith along with the down on their luck cast of characters as they encounter silly hijinks, comedic slapstick, and fun nonsense of all sorts! And maybe just a little bit of hellish events along the way…
Content and Genre
Age recommendation: 10+ (PG)
Genre: Slapstick cartoon, comedic-tragedy/dark comedy, slice of life
Alastor & Lilith is rated PG due to its dark themes/elements, crude humor, rude language, and cartoon violence. There is also some instances of tobacco/alcohol usage by the adult characters.
Dark Themes/Elements:
This comic includes religious themes of Christianity in which many antagonistic characters are demons, devils, etc. While the comic takes a comedic approach, there are still valuable lessons on found family and faith in good overcoming evil. However, there are heavier topics insinuated, such as death and suicide. If these are themes you find uncomfortable or inappropriate, we do not recommend the comic. If you would like more specificity, we happily welcome questions and have our contact information at the bottom of the page.
Crude Humor
Just your typical bad-mannered cartoon characters! There are no farts, but definitely a belch or two. We also have quite a few ‘ladies man’ characters, so expect plenty of fairly tame pickup lines.
Rude Language
There is a lot of name-calling in this comic! We couldn’t fit all the names on a single page, things like stupid, dumb, shrimp, bean pole, the list goes on! But we can promise there is no profanity, with the exception of the word “hell” scarcely used.
Cartoon Violence
There is plenty of violence, but the good thing is they’re cartoon characters, so they bounce back well enough! Occasionally, there may be some black eyes, missing teeth, or a bloody nose, still, blood is used lightly and scarcely. Some tools for violence are guns, hammers, flames, wooden planks, cannons/other explosives, and chainsaws. Again, we are happy to expand if any questions are raised!
Tobacco/Alcohol Usage
The comic is intended to replicate the cartoon aesthetics of the 1930’s so there is casual use of cigars and cigarettes. Alcohol is never directly acknowledged but insinuated for comedic purposes amongst the adult characters.

Cast Call!
Get to know the starring charcaters of the comic!
Alastor Campbell
Sold his sould to the devil. Lives alone in scraps of wood for a house and hates working his job at the carnival as the merry-go-round operator. And hates his new job of babysitting the devil's daughter even more. This sarcastic, cold, and grouchy sourpuss shows no sympathy, not even to a child! Can you blame him? Nothing has gone his way throughout his entire fifty-six years of living!
Lilith
Mischievous daughter of the devil who asks for nothing more than some good fun and games! She's not very compatable with humans, she is sweet, but also violent and has energy that could last her the whole night.
Hestia
The devil's secretary, female demon of fire, cares for Lilith like a daughter and checks up on Alastor and Lilith frequently to be sure there are no problems.
Barstow & Bronzie Campbell
Dimwitted nephews of Alastor Campbell. Good-natured young fellas five years out of high school, working their first jobs at the Mopey Meadows toy factory. They hope to save whatever money they make into business investments so that ladies may finally find them attractive! Barstow is the tall bowl-cut, a little more considerate and practical than his younger brother, but still just as clueless. Bronzie is the short antena hair, he is blunt and lacks any self-awareness, also pretty clueless!
Fabricio Miranda
Local gas station attendant. A short-tempered pretty boy and hopeless mama's boy. Nicknamed 'Fabri', he is the former co-worker of Barstow and Bronize at the Mopey Meadows toy factory until they got him fired! Feeling guilty, it was Barstow and Bronzie who also hooked him up with his new job at the gas station (which pays more)! Still, Fabri can't help but hold a grudge, especially since the two brothers believe they are his friends.
The Sinsters
The bad guys in the story, always trying to kidnap Lilith! The Sinsters, proffesionally known as The 'Six' Deadly Sins, consists of the following members: Twinkle Toes, the uptight purple wolf, Lucky, the pompous snake, Willie Narkoman Moretti III (Willie), the hyper-destructive black fox, Pretty Bear Floyd, the loving but oblivious blue bear, and last but not least, Bugsy the drunken beyond reason stork.
Our Mission.
Well, we don’t really know our mission, we’re just toons! Let’s have the creator herself speak on the mission.
“Hello, my name is Caitlin Cortinas, I came up with Alastor & Lilith in May, 2021 as an idea for the school newspaper comic for the next school year. I then decided to self-publish it around the beginning of 2022. By May 16th, 2022, Alastor & Lilith Comics Volume One was self published. And I honestly owe it all to my art teacher, Mark Harrison, I was much too nervous to take my work to the next level until he encouraged me to do so and greatly assisted me with self publishing the work. I would even label Mr. Harrison as the official producer behind Volume One. I was seventeen at that time, I am now twenty years old (as of August, 2024).
I’ve sold about twenty copies of Alastor & Lilith Comics Volume One and have about twenty copies left, my goal is to sell them all. I hope to build a community around Alastor & Lilith filled with people who have a love and passion for classic comics and cartoons. I hope it get’s to the point where I can do this for a living, but if it remains as unrecognized as it is now, I will still continue to make the comics until the story is finished (comic 57 is the last comic strip and volume six is the last volume). Simply because I love doing this, work will just be slow since I must find other ways to make a living, but I will never stop. I made a letter promising that. Which you can find on this page.
If suddenly many people buy copies of Volume One and I am able to make a decent amount of money, here are my plans: I will first use the money to produce more volumes and to further market and publicize them. I will also use it to produce comic strips more quickly. With that I hope this earns the comic even more attention. I wish to donate all other money the comics make to any organization that assists children in any way which could include health, poverty, etc. I wanted to do this since I decided to self publish the comic. Because despite how violent and creepy Alastor & Lilith Comics can be, I made it with children in mind as the target audience since I was a kid who honestly adored cartoons that creeped me out and were a little over the top. So know if I were to one day make $10,000 off of the comic and I need $1,000 or so to produce more volumes and cover other expenses such as ink and printer paper, then the remaining $9,000 is what would be donated to charity. Same applies to lower or higher price ranges.
Finally, once I finish the Alastor & Lilith story (which I predict I will be working on for five to six more years based on the pace I am going at now). My dreams for the future of Alastor & Lilith is to pitch the idea for an animated series and a musical (since it is structured like a theatrical performance because I am a theatre kid) I feel a lot can be done with the cartoon wackiness on a live stage! I just pray no one takes advantage of it if it comes to that. These comics are precious to me and I wouldn’t want spin-offs or films (maybe I’ll allow a Christmas special because Christmas specials are awesome) but truly an animated series and a musical that stay FAITHFUL to the comics could be something magical and that’s what I would like the legacy of my comics to create. But that is only a dream, as long as I can help out some children in need, and make anyone of any age laugh and smile, I’ve completed my mission.”
